Spurgeons

A charity working in the UK and abroad, which exists to create opportunities for vulnerable children and young people

Spurgeons is a charity working in the UK and abroad, which exists to create opportunities for vulnerable children and young people to find hope and transformation now and fulfilment in their futures.

With more than 100 projects, each seeking to respond to the needs identified in a local community, Spurgeons works in partnership with many organisations, including local authorities, Sure Start schemes and churches.

Spurgeons logoSince 1992, it has worked internationally, initially in Romania, and later in Uganda (child sponsorship), Kenya (school for aids orphans), Mexico (day care and after school club) and Moldova (kindergarten and family centre). As Romania grows economically, however, it is withdrawing strategically and Spurgeons is looking to develop its partnerships, particularly in Africa and Mexico.
