Bible Society

Millions still lack the Bible in their own language, at a price they can afford, or in a format they can access. At the same time, millions who have the Bible in easy reach fail to understand its significance for them and their community.

Bible Society is committed to ending this Bible poverty and is working for a day when the Bible’s God-given revelation, inspiration, and wisdom is shaping the lives and communities of people everywhere. Our last task is urgent because of what people, communities and even nations lose by not coming to embrace the Bible's life-changing message.

Globally we work in partnership with 145 national Bible Societies to make the Bible available in the language people need, at a price they can afford and in the most appropriate format. In England and Wales, we work to build bridges between the Bible and people’s everyday lives especially by working closely with those in education, politics, the arts and media.
