A Passion for Mission 2008 - 1 July 2008

Lindsay BrownThe third ‘A Passion for Mission’ will take place on Tuesday 1 July 2008 and follow the same format as last year.

In the afternoon we will look at the challenges of ecology and the environment facing the mission community. How can we, do we, should we take the issue seriously? Does it impinge on our strategies and project planning? This session will be lead by friends from A Rocha.

The evening session is open to everyone and we are delighted to welcome Lindsay Brown, who was with IFES and now heads up Lausanne internationally, as our speaker. Lindsay will be speaking on the topic: 'The Power of the Gospel in the World's Universities'.

Mission-net 2009 - 8-13 April, 2009, Oldenburg, Germany

Mission-net 2009Martin Lee writes: mission-net is a new initiative of the EEA and EEMA to encourage young people (16 to 30 age group) into mission across Europe. Over 100 Christian organisations are expected to host onsite exhibition stands, providing participants with a direct connection to a mission-centred lifestyle. Furthermore, outreach campaigns in conjunction with mission-net will take place immediately after the event, providing opportunities to put theory into practice.

Global Connections are committed to this event and to encouraging those in the UK involved in youth leadership as well as our young people to make this event a high priority. To this end James Clarke, a student at Redcliffe College, has been appointed the UK National Motivator and we are keen for you to meet him and to hear more about this event and how we all can support and encourage those who are able to reach and take our young people in 2009. We are in the process of fixing a date for a meeting with James in the next couple of months. This information will be shown on our website as soon as the date and venue have been confirmed.
