We are told money makes the round go round and money certainly helps mission go round the world. Yet many Christian agencies find the issue of raising funds difficult and resources are always a major issue. The It’s only money conference was held in September 2005 and sought to give opportunity to reflect on fund-raising and financial matters from a theological, ethical and practical perspective.
The conference was run as an interactive set of workshops with only a few plenary sessions covering:
- The ethics of raising funds
- Forming strategic partnerships to work together on fund-raising issues
There was also an interactive Biblical exploration based on 2 Corinthians 8 and 9 using John Stott’s booklet, "The Grace of Giving" - published jointly by the Langham Partnership and IFES.
The main part of the conference was run as a variety of facilitated workshops, and a list of notes available for download is below.
