Rev Dave Bookless is National Director of A Rocha UK, part of the international Christian environmental charity, A Rocha (www.arocha.org) which runs practical environmental projects in 18 countries across six continents. His passion is living and communicating Christian faith in ways that reflect the full scope of the biblical Gospel, and speak to contemporary cultures. A Rocha UK is one of the UK’s leading Christian environmental charities, with several projects and partnerships emerging around the country, and partnerships with other major Christian bodies, as well as a major role in challenging and resourcing churches on caring for creation. Dave’s book Planetwise is published by IVP in early 2008.

The day will be hosted by Dave in multiracial Southall & Hayes, where since 2001 the “A Rocha Living Waterways” project has sought to create a ‘greener, cleaner Southall and Hayes’. A Rocha worked with a local Council to develop the Minet Country Park on ninety acres of formerly derelict land, and continues with environmental education, scientific study, volunteer involvement and community projects.

The day will include walking around the Minet site, hearing the story of the project, and missiological and theological discussion with Dave about mission and creation care.

Please bring your own lunch. Drinks will be provided.
