Youth and Children Forum
For those working to mobilise young people into mission with a world focus
Who is it for?
For those churches and organisations seeking to encourage children and young people (under 18) in the UK to be active in sharing their faith and be passionately concerned for the world.
What is the focus?
The emphasis of this forum is on supporting and encouraging each other, learning about mission orientated resources and exploring good practice.
What issues have we covered recently?
In 2005, the forum met for the first time in a number of years to consider the opportunities to mobilise young people into mission through the Motiv8 initiative. In 2006, we looked at Mission without youth how can we bridge the gap? Gavin Calver (Youth for Christ) challenged the forum to consider how they viewed and sought to encourage young people into mission. Then in 2007 the focus was on how to encourage young people to both DO something AND be concerned for the world.
When do we meet?
The forum currently meets on an annual basis at the beginning of the year.
Who is on the planning team?
This forum is chaired by Paul Round (WEC International). The other team members are Phil Moore (London City Mission), David Pollendine (Church Mission Society) and Jane Showell-Rogers (Global Connections).
