The Thinking Mission Forum is not meeting at the moment.
Who is it for?
This forum brings together anybody who wants to think missiologically about current events, issues and trends in the world. This inckudes academics, trainers, students and practitioners - all are welcome. Our aim is to grow and develop as reflective practitioners.
We aim to meet two or three times as a forum and have one additional special event per year.
What is the focus?
To create a space where people can think openly and honestly about the issues being faced in mission today.
What issues have we covered recently?
Topics are vaired and have included: Colonialism and Manipulation, Partnership between the West and the Rest? ; Must we ditch traditional church structures to do missiion well; Major challenges for the world Church; The relationship between ethinc and diaspora churches in the UK.
Who is on the planning team?
The forum chair is Cathy Ross formerly of CMS. The planning group for 2011 consists of Paul Davies (allnations), John Kafwanka (Anglican Communion), Jonathan Ingleby and Eddie Arthur (Wycliffe Bible Translators)
The forum is administered by Jane Showell-Rogers of Global Connections.
