Who is it for?
- Churches and people with a heart for mission to and from Latin America
- Latin Americans in the UK, working with the UK church and/or leading Spanish or Portuguese speaking congregations
- UK mission agency personnel interested or involved in Latin America
What does it do?
The forum meets once or twice a year for a day conference and includes opportunity for peer sharing in groups, and feedback. The forum also publishes papers on tooics discussed.
What is the focus?
The forum seeks to resource those with a heart for mission to and from Latin America. It provides a learning, sharing and supportive networking opportunity to understand better the Latin American context and its implication for the church in the UK. The forum is supported by Latin Americans engaged in mission in the UK and pastors leading their own Spanish or Portuguese speaking congregations. The cross-cultural blend of experience deepens understanding and cooperation.
What issues have we covered recently?
Sharing honestly (and humorously) about each others' cultures and mindsets; church growth in Latin America; the role of western mission organisations in mobilising/supporting Latins in mission; mission and leadership training; mission in reverse.
Who is on the planning team?
The forum planning team is chaired by Jo Hazelton (CMS) and includes Samuel Cueva (St James, Muswell Hill), Wilma Davies (Latin Partners), Andrew Johnson (Latin Link), John Ellison and Claudio Muzzi. The Forum is administered by Jane Showell Rogers.
