Caring for mission partners in the 21st century
Who is it for?
This forum brings together a wide variety of people -member care providers, sending agencies, sending and receiving churches or mental health professionals who recognise the importance of equipping mission partners to serve effectively. The Forum has close links with the European Member Care Network.
What is its focus and when does it meet?
The forum's main focus is to help senders improve the care and development of their mission partners around the world. This is carried out by seminars, residential conferences and access to resources. The forum plans to meet twice annually, one a formal 24-hour residential conference and one as an informal roundtable.
What issues have we covered recently?
Member Care in the Muslim World; Debriefing; Caring mission partners in the 21st century; Member Care in a crisis situation; Meeting the HIV and AIDS challenge to mission implications for our personnel.
Who is on the planning team?
The Chair is Marion Knell. Other members include Paul Lindsay (Global Connections), Debbie Hawker, Mary Ann Richard and Ian Orton (Operation Mobilisation).

Access to NHS Treatment for Mission Partners
The Department of Health has published some rules, procedures and documentation on access to hospital and primary health care, including NHS charges and exemptions for former UK residents currently working overseas. Missionaries are specifically named as an exempt category, eligible for free NHS treatment in England. Full information can be found on the Department of Health website
