Getting the right people to the right place in the right role at the right time in the right way

Who is it for?

International HR ForumThis forum brings together those involved in HR and personnel issues in mission related ministries. Many are qualified HR professionals, others new to personnel related work. It is for anyone with recruitment, appointment, training and people support roles. It is a joint forum with the Global Mission Network (GMN) of Churches Together in Britain and Ireland (CTBI).

What is the focus?

The forum's main focus is on helping to improve practice. As a result, it is developing a comprehensive package of good practice guidelines. Usually an outside speaker is invited to provide insight or training on a particular issues and there are regular updates on HR law, with particular reference to employment overseas.

What issues have we covered recently?

Standards and Codes of Practice, Employment Law, HR/Personnels Strategic Role in Change Management, Psychometric testing, NHS charges for non-UK based British citizens.

Employment Law is regularly discussed at this Forum and for up to date issues go to the Anthony Collins website where you can download their latest briefing.

When do we meet?

The forum meets twice a year, usually in June and November. Most meetings start mid-morning and last to mid-afternoon to help those needing to travel. There is usually a residential conference every 18 months, run jointly with the Evangelical Alliance.

Who is the planning team?

The Chair is Gary Colvin (MAF-UK). Other members include Owen Davies (Zambesi Mission), Marion Knell (Global Connections), St.John Perry (OMF International), Jo Sayer (Crosslinks), Helen Johnston (Presbyterian Church of Ireland), Jane Showell-Rogers (Global Connections) and Martin Lee (Global Connections).
