Who is it for?
This forum is for those whose ministries include witness to Chinese people. This may be work and witness amongst Christian professionals in China, Chinese students and others who are currently in this country, as well as literature ministries.
What is the focus?
The forum's three main areas of focus are to:
- Provide fellowship and networking opportunities for those involved in ministry in China and to the Chinese
- Discuss issues of common concern
- Consider joint projects as appropriate
It should be noted that no evangelistic work is permitted in China and discretion is exercised in the use of information because of the sensitive political situation.
What issues have we covered recently?
Theological education in Beijing and Oxford; the Olympic Games 2008/2012; the growth and vision of the Chinese Church in London; reaching Chinese students in the UK.
When do we meet?
The forum meets twice a year, usually in the Spring and Autumn. Most meetings start at 1pm and end by 3.30pm and are held at Whitefield House. There is usually a main speaker, who may look at the current situation in China, some aspect of ministry, or the needs of a particular region.
Who is on the planning team?
The Chair is David Newbery (Teachers for China). Other members include Andy Steven (OMF) and Bryan Knell (Global Connections).
