What is the focus?
The CEOs meet for mutual support and understanding. There is also an emphasis on training and personal development.
What issues have we covered recently?
Organisational health and growth; partnership; followership (do you get the leaders you deserve?); power and influence in leadership; the leadership of God.
The informal lunches have discussed issues such as: succession planning and recruitment of young people; finances and support; support of non-UK missionaries and initiatives; back office services.
When do we meet?
The forum meets residentially on an annual basis, usually in October. This is a 24-hour overnight conference, which mainly looks at training or has an external speaker on hot topics. In 2007 the forum was part of a larger conference for various senior staff.
There are a variety of other events for CEOs to meet. For instance, we hold occasional informal, regional lunches, which give opportunity to identify topics of mutual interest.
Who is on the planning team?
The Evangelical Alliance/Global Connections forum planning group includes Nola Leach (CARE), Kevin Belcher (Interhealth), and Gordon Temple (Torch Trust).
