Africa forum
Addressing key issues relating to mission in Africa
Who is it for?
This forum brings together agencies and individuals with a particular interest in mission in Africa or who work in Africa.
What is the focus?
The forum's main focus is seeking to understand the challenges facing this continent in the 21st century. Christianity has become the religion of the majority in sub-Saharan Africa but the growth of Islam presents major challenges. HIV and AIDS now overshadows the future of the continent. Urban population has risen rapidly with shanty towns, greater poverty and crime as a consequence and new ways must be found to impact the cities for God. Topics have included Leadership development in Africa; the challenge of those affected by HIV and AIDS; the presence of Islam within the African church context; dependency; attitudes and spirit in partnerships.
Who is on the planning team?
The Chair is John Rose (Worldshare).
