Seize the Day – April 2011: We are now well into 2011, the 400th anniversary of the King James Bible and the year of Biblefresh. Biblefresh has been adopted by many churches and agencies and recently has been behind the theme for Spring Harvest. One of the key speakers at Spring Harvest Skegness this year was Elaine Duncan who is the CEO of the Bible Society in Scotland. She is passionate about the Scriptures and making them available and relevant to the Church of today.
Love the Gospel, Love the People, Love to Go – May Bank Holiday Special: This is one of the UK’s largest mission festivals. It’s held over the May Day bank holiday weekend in Bulstrode, a big old mansion and grounds just off the M25.GO2011 is three separate days of mission festival and the main speakers are Frog & Amy Orr-Ewing. Ears to Hear: The sixth annual A Passion for Mission on Monday 27th June 2011 is part of a series of events aimed at discerning what God might be saying to the UK church - especially about mission. This year we have the privilege of welcoming Dr Chris Wright of the Langham Partnership as our main speaker. Chris gave a powerful address at Cape Town and will share further his reflections with us.
We will be meeting at the Chinese Church in Hammersmith with the afternoon session kicking off at at 1.30pm and the day closing with a Chinese meal finishing at 7.00pm. Reaching Muslims: There are many good books about Islam, a new small basic introductory book for Christians who have Muslim colleagues or neighbours has just been published and deserves a mention.
