Aim
As a network, our aim is to help God's people in the UK to be active and effective in global mission.
The network can only be successful when its individual parts are working together. We seek to provide the following services to and with our members:
1. NETWORKING members together
2. HELPING churches to be more involved in global issues, including world mission
3. RAISING STANDARDS through multi-directional learning
4. EXPLORING the future of mission
5. SUPPORTING members through advice, services and information
6. REPRESENTING the UK mission community to government and media, and internationally
Global Connections can link others who work in similar areas or point them to where they can find help on practical, legal or missiological issues. There is access to approximately 20 forums where members can meet with and learn from those who share similar concerns and can get involved in joint projects and co-operative actions.

The network is involved in a variety of initiatives to help churches become more engaged in mission. In addition, we seek to provide a variety of opportunities for church leaders to engage with mission leaders.

Members are committed to the Global Connections Statement of Faith and follow guidelines and standards of accounting and publicity. A Code of Best Practice for Short Term Mission has been developed, as well as guidelines of Child Protection in an overseas context. Other codes and guidelines on a variety of issues are in the process of being developed.

There are many key issues affecting the future of world mission. Global Connections provides opportunity to explore these key issues within the mission community and the wider church through conferences, events and consultations.

Global Connections provides a variety of support services such as discounted rates for comprehensive annual travel and medical insurance; pensions schemes for mission partners working overseas and other insurance services at competitive rates.

We have the opportunity to represent the UK mission movement to Government and the media. In addition we represent the UK mission community at European and world level through the EEMA and WEA-MC.
