The WEA-MC is one of the six commissions of the World Evangelical Alliance, and is accountable to the WEA constituency. We serve as an alliance/network, focusing on the ever-expanding extension of the Kingdom of God.
We seek to envision the global mission community to fully live, proclaim and extend to all peoples the transforming message of the kingdom of God in Christ Jesus through the power of the Spirit.
WEA-MC aims to inspire, advocate and strengthen Gods mission agenda among the global Christian community. We serve, catalyse and facilitate affinity clusters and tracks for greater effectiveness, developing strategic relationships and resources.
In order to gain the maximum leverage in our work, we strategically serve the global mission community through mission movements, networks and mission structures in order that they in turn can effectively serve their own constituencies. This constituency is represented at various levels by MC Associates.
Who can belong?
The WEA MC has six constituencies, and one becomes a MC Associate because of leadership of a one of the missional structures of the constituencies or by recommendation of existing members.
Those with a constituency - associations, alliances and other movements:
- Leaders of regional mission movements, with whom we work in partnership and are committed to strengthen them
- Leaders of national mission movements, whom we also urge to relate to their existing regional body
Those whose focus is missionally specific:
- Leaders of international networks. Those that focus on issues for specific projects; task forces set up specifically by the MC; all with an agreed structure for communication and decision-making with the MC
- Leaders of international mission structures and agencies (denominational, inter-denominational or special ministry focus)
- Leaders of international and national church associations and of local missional churches
- Leaders with special gifts and expertise to work on task forces, networks, projects and programmes.
