Micah Challenge is a coming together of people, right around the world, who want to take up the challenge laid down by Old Testament prophet Micah, and speak out against the injustice of global poverty.
Micah Challenge believes that the Millennium Development Goals provide the world with the best opportunity it has ever had to eradicate extreme poverty, and is bringing the Church worldwide together in a united cry for this opportunity to be taken.
Micah Challenge is active in 40 different nations. In the UK, the movement is growing all the time as charities, churches and individuals add their voice.
How can people join the Micah Challenge movement?
Individuals can join the movement by signing the Micah Call. This can be done through the “Be the generation…” postcards or by going to www.micahchallenge.org.uk and clicking the Sign the Micah Call button.
Churches can join the movement by becoming a Micah Church. This is a corporate statement of on-going commitment to these issues and means the church will be added to a network of churches that have done the same.
Organisations can join the movement by adding their name to the coalition of charities and businesses involved in Micah Challenge UK.
What is Micah Challenge asking you to do right now?
- Add your voice to the movement by signing the Micah Call (see above);
- Commit to taking action at the critical times in the months ahead;
- Commit to praying for the MDGs to be achieved and millions to be lifted out of poverty.
